Camper vans at Holme Lane

The Town Council is aware that Holme Lane is frequently being used as informal overnight stopovers for camper vans, with the location being advertised several websites.

Residents and users of Holme Lane have reported that this has been the cause of anti-social behaviour which has included littering and even the dumping of human waste.

These types of behaviour are unacceptable and haves no place in Bakewell.

The Town Council supports residents in their efforts to have this use of Holme Lane stopped, and has made representations to the police, DCC Place, and to the District Council. Requests have been made that additional attention is given to this area, and that enforcement action is taken against offenders.

The Town Council is contacting the websites publicising the location to ask that they remove the posts and that they note that overnight stopovers are not welcome at Holme Lane.
